A Closer Look at Adversity

Poverty = Adversity

3 billion people are affected globally. Childhood poverty affects at least 1 billion children, leading to 22,000 deaths daily.

Chronic psychological stress DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE and can affect ANYONE

Virtually no clinical or behavioral therapies target the neuro-cardiovascular axis of disease. Adversity and disadvantage affect cognitive, autonomic and biological regulatory systems that cause disease in multiple organ systems, especially the heart.
